Ethics can be described as going beyond what is legal, and doing what is right, even if no one looks. So when we're talking about unethical behavior in industry, we're talking about acts that don't follow reasonable corporate expectations, refusing to do what's right in any case.
In some situations, it may be a person in a company who in the course of his or her is immoral, and at other times, we're thinking about corporate culture, where the whole organization is fraudulent from top to bottom, with disastrous results for society. Some examples common to unethical practices are-
1. Workers ' oppression.
2. Taking advantage of tax loopholes.
3. Facts.
4 deceptive. Setting up fake identities.
5. Discrimination over gender.
6. Baby nursery, etc.
I'm here to give my opinion on the' Coca-Cola ' company's unethical practices.
Coca-Cola is an American multinational corporation and non-alcoholic beverage manufacturer, retailer, and distributor of concentrates and syrups. The company began operating in India from 1950. Kala Dera, was the case of the unethical practice terminated by' Coca-Cola.' Let me explain this out-
Kala Dera is a large village outside the village of Jaipur (Rajasthan) where agriculture is the primary source of livelihood. In 2000 Coca-Cola started bottling operations at Kala Dera. And within one year, the group began to notice a rapid decline in groundwater levels.
Unusable well in Kala Dera Confirms unusable well depleted water levels in Kala Dera showing low levels of water. That was the worst of times. The depletion of groundwater directly translated into loss of income for farmers. To women, this means having to walk a further 5-6 kilometers just to fetch water to meet the family's basic daily needs.
For many children in Kala Dera, it means leaving schools to provide much-needed help in household work as the women had additional burdens. The Kala Dera group organized itself to challenge the Coca-Cola corporation to aggravate water conditions by extraction and dumping, and requested the closure of the Coca-Cola bottling plant.
The business, usual fashion, denied any wrongdoing and blamed' outsiders' for growing resistance from the local community. Instead of being socially responsible and shutting down their operations in Kala Dera or relocating, they wanted to convince people to believe it has become water neural, and they also made false claims that they recharge the groundwater.
The Coca-Cola corporation is extremely oblivious of matters outside its industry, as it not only adversely affects the environment, but also for farmers, the loss of groundwater leads to a loss of their income, which has a ripple effect because their children have to leave school to help out.
Therefore, this is only Coca Cola's unethical activity that I felt would be the most troubling as it affects farmers ' livelihoods and affects the education system as well.
THANKYOU!!
